How Can severe Painful Mouth Blisters Be Treated?

I have had lip cold sores in the past & use either valacyclovir pills or cream/ointment with great success & quick relief. I have something near the corner of my mouth now that I thought was a cold sore so I took 2 pills 12 hours apart 5 days ago. I was expecting the usual healing but it isn't responding like usual . It now looks more like an infected blister and I am wondering if it could be something different that need to be treated in a different way.

Hi..
Thanks for writing to us..

It looks like there is infection in the blisters leading to pain and taking a longer time to heal..
There can be secondary bacterial infection leading to pain and inflammation with delay in healing..
You should apply antiseptic ointment like Chlorohexidine over the blisters..
Clean the blisters with Povidone Iodine and hydrogen peroxide..
Do cool compresses over the so that the inflammation gets reduced..
In case if the healing still does not occur then you need to get evaluated and a microscopy of scrapings from the blisters can help..

Hope your query is resolved..

Regards.
